This website is a resource to keep you up-to-date with what's going on in the classroom.
You can access the online textbook using the Online Textbook & Links page.
Please check out the Class Files page! Starting 1/26/10, students will be required to complete a daily Homelearning Log and have it signed by their parents. They will turn it in for a grade EVERY time that a homelearning assignment is due. This is both to help students keep track of their homework assignments and to help parents keep track of their child's progress.

Electronic Device Usage Policy
Please be aware that CCMS has a strict policy regarding the usage of electronic devices and cell phones on campus.
To summarize:
- Electronic devices include but are not limited to: iPods, Portable Play Stations, Gameboy, and all MP3 Players.
- IF AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE IS SEEN OR USED IN SCHOOL IT WILL BE CONFISCATED AND ONLY RETURNED TO A PARENT/GUARDIAN.
- Cell phones are allowed for communication between students and parents BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL ONLY.
- IF A CELL PHONE IS USED OR GOES OFF DURING CLASS IT WILL BE CONFISCATED AND ONLY RETURNED TO A PARENT/GUARDIAN.
Please make sure to leave inappropriate electronic devices at home and to TURN OFF ALL CELLULAR DEVICES DURING SCHOOL HOURS. Failure to do so could result in the device going off and being confiscated.

WEEKLY HOMEWORK
Read 30 minutes every school-day (except for days when you do one of your two weekly Reading Plus Sessions) and writing down your daily progress (or that you worked on Reading Plus) in your Reading Log. Your Reading Log should always be kept in the Reading section of your binder.
You should be doing 2 Reading Plus sessions per week either by logging in through the Student Portal at dadeschools.net or by loging in to http://www.readingplus.com/users (the site code is ccmschool).
You can check your books reading level (the GRADE LEVEL EQUIVALENT) at http://bookwizard.scholastic.com/. Your books must be NOVELS and at your grade-level or above.
The Book Reports are due on the following dates:
Periods 2 & 3: January 12th & February 3rd
Periods 4, 5 & 6: January 13th & February 4th

Attendance is of vital importance to your education. For your convinience, please click here for the 2009-2010 school-year calendar.
Remember, Homeroom begins at 9:00 AM sharp, students are allowed to enter the building at 8:50 and the school day ends at 3:40 PM. Make sure you have a reliable ride to and from school and/or a rainy day plan if you walk.
